Contact Restoration in (ECU) Connectors
Why is it important to restore contacts in connectors?
The issue with modern contacts in ECU connectors, for example, is that they increasingly operate with very low current levels. Where currents in the past were typically in the milliampere (mA) range, they have now dropped to microampere (µA) levels for certain contacts. This can result in the formation of a microscopic oxide layer, causing the contact to be lost. An example of such low currents can be found in data networks like CAN.
GMTO’s Solution
GMTO has found a solution in a special product that permanently restores contacts. This product was developed for the computer industry and other sectors where reliable connections are vital, such as the medical field or space exploration, where a stable connection is essential for safety and mission success.
